Didn't do too much apart from that ... but `that' was something quite mythical

Re: Payets freekick
I've never seen a keeper sent the wrong way by a 25-yard free-kick. Like a penalty taker, gave him the eyes, shaped to go one way and at the last minute put it in the opposite corner. Best free-kick I've seen live.

I just don't think I understand to be honest.

An absolutely sensational free kick. Unbelievable.

Was one of those jaw dropping I can't believe I just saw that moments.
Can't recall a more extended ovation for a goal in the stadium after the initial cheers died down.
Special goal.

Funny you should say that hairy as you come across as a right bender when you write stuff like that.

Re: Payets freekick
At first it looked as if it was going to go well over the bar. How he got that much dip on it, as well as the swerve, I will never know. Sensational.

Re: Payets freekick
Everyone around me at the time froze and blinked. Then the pin dropped and we all saw the ball nestle in the back of the net.Awesome, brilliant almost unbelievable, a truely sensational moment and maybe my last at the Boleyn .

Re: Payets freekick
Granted Hennessey is a bit shit, but the way he just gave up because he realised there was no stopping it from the position he'd been fooled into taking up was something to behold. Up the wrong end for me and the replays on the shitty screens didn't do it justice, but I can't wait to see a few different angles on it. A proper 'I was there' moment.

Re: Payets freekick
Good that he stuck one in the other corner.

Just to keep the keepers guessing.

That was what I call An Eye of the Needle Free Kick.

So tight to that corner without touching the sides.

SAWEEEEEET.

Re: Payets freekick
When was Goal of the Season ever a free-kick?

Must be the first to ever even be a contender _ I'm assuming it will be, but the Beeb's having a laugh if it isn't

Re: Payets freekick
We've all seen some majestic free kicks but I can't think of a better one than that.

Irish Hammer

That was a smack and a half but still nowhere near as beautiful as Payets one yesterday.

Re: Payets freekick
Payets goal a crispy crunchy one a luxury crisp kick to the ball and a deluxe crunch in the bag of the net.

If i could describe the goal in sainsburys terms it would be under the be good to yourself section where everything costs 50p more than the basics etc.

Thinking about it though you wouldn't have bought a goal of that quality in sainsburys , more of a marks and spencer quality.
